Superfood Facial Mask - Matcha + Spirulina

Matcha: Contains incredibly high levels of epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), a powerful antioxidant that protects skin cells from damage caused by oxidative stress. Matcha is also helpful in reducing inflammation, promoting a more even skin tone, reducing acne and increasing skin elasticity.

Spirulina: Extremely nutrient dense with proteins, vitamins and minerals such as vitamins B1, B2 and B3, copper, iron, magnesium potassium. A powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, spirulina wards off free radicals and eliminates toxins which helps skin heal faster and boosts the rate of cell turnover, contributing to a more youthful-looking complexion.

Baobab: A nutrient powerhouse obtained from grounding the pulp of baobab fruit. It supplies many important nutrients and is especially high in vitamin C, vitamin B6, niacin, iron and potassium. Helps increase collagen and elastin production, and contains proteins that help your skin stay supple and wrinkle-free.

Maca: The maca plant, a medicinal plant that mainly grows high up in the mountains of Peru, is sometimes referred to as Peruvian ginseng. It's highly nutritious and potent with some essential vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin C, copper and iron. It also contains many bioactive plant compounds including glucosinolates and polyphenols.

Oat: Calms and soothes irritations, helps retain moisture and aids with conditioning to promote soft and smooth skin.

Peppermint: Naturally cleansing, with antiseptic and antibacterial properties. Cooling effect soothes puffiness and irritation and inflammation associated with acne.

Green clay: Mineral rich, helps draw out toxins, tighten the skin, and reduce the appearance of pores.

Mix 5 ml (1 teaspoon) facial mask with 5 ml water in a small bowl until a paste is formed. Apply to damp skin with a gentle motion. Leave on until completely dry, approximately 10-15 minutes, then rinse off with water. For extra nourishment, add a few drops of facial oil into the mix. Follow with serum or moisturiser.
